General Statement of Duties:
Must meet the minimum standard for law enforcement. Performs responsible law enforcement duties relative to the protection of life and property; prevention, detection and investigation of a crime; and maintenance of law and order.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class. Patrols campus on foot or in a car; checks doors and windows of the buildings on campus; enforces vehicle parking; investigates unusual people on or around campus; testifies in court; direct traffic; take written statements; interview witnesses; investigate crimes when assigned; prepares written records and reports; performs related work as required. Provide resources related to law enforcement areas of expertise; criminal justice, traffic laws, safe schools, anti-bullying, conflict resolution, anti-vaping, restorative justice, peer mediations, impaired driving simulation, trauma care, CPR, stop-the bleed, provide leadership for CSSO and Crisis management team, provide professional development when appropriate, responsible for district crisis guide updates and implementation. All other duties and responsibilities assigned by Mayor/Superintendent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Some knowledge of laws and ordinances; working knowledge of the geography of the city and the locations of important buildings within the Cutter Morning Star School District; ability to observe situations and to report and record them clearly and accurately; ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations; ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to complete neat, accurate and timely reports and records; ability to act without direct supervision in meeting emergencies.
Education:
High School graduation or equivalent
Experience:
At least five years in a responsible position, preferably in law enforcement, security or another related field.
