Position Summary:
A paraprofessional may work in a variety of positions in a school district. The primary roles are to assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefits for students. Duties will vary according to the student's needs from physical assistance and care to behavioral management and academic assistance.
- Provide instructional support and non-instructional services to students.
- Work with children individually or in small groups by providing basic instruction on reading, writing, math, and other education-related activities based on student needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator or their representative.
- Implement accommodations indicated by the student's 504 or IEP (read tests aloud, take notes, enlarge materials, etc.) as directed by the special education teacher.
Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the schools and CMSSD policies and procedures.
- Evidence of strong commitment to quality education.
- Evidence of strong organizational skills.
- Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Arkansas Paraprofessional certificate or license to meed ADE certification standards for the position's essential duties and responsibilities.
Computer Skills:
Ability to apply basic computer programs (spreadsheet, word, excel, powerpoint, etc...) to enhance job performance. ( Others could include NWEA, HAC/TAC, ACT aspire).
