POSITION SUMMARY

Cutter Morning Star High School is seeking a dynamic and creative High School Art/Yearbook Teacher to inspire students through visual arts and lead the development of the school’s annual yearbook publication. This position blends artistic instruction with real-world design, photography, writing, and project management skills.

 

The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging art curriculum aligned to Arkansas standards, foster student creativity, and cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Additionally, the teacher will advise the yearbook staff, guiding students in all aspects of publication, including layout design, photography, editing, marketing, and production deadlines.

 

Responsibilities include assessing student learning, integrating technology and digital media tools, collaborating with staff and community members, and maintaining high expectations for student achievement and professionalism. The teacher will also oversee extracurricular yearbook activities and ensure the timely completion of the final publication.

 

Candidates should hold appropriate certification, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and have experience in visual arts, graphic design, or journalism.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution and endorsements in the areas of the teaching assignment. Other requirements per job description.

 

Certificates & Licenses

Valid Arkansas certificate/ license or alternative certificate/license for compliance with the necessary ADE requirements to meet the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.

 

Computer Skills

Ability to apply basic computer programs (spreadsheet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, others) to enhance job performance. (Others could include e-School, HAC/TAC, NWEA, TLI)

 

Other Requirements

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely, both in oral and written communication.

Ability to perform duties with awareness of all federal, state, and district requirements.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and the general public.
